Emily Melious is the founder and CEO of Launch Consulting. As a People Expert, SHRM-SCP, Certified Kolbe Consultant, and Accredited Youth Specialist, she has a long track record of empowering people and companies to reach peak performance.
Emily coaches individuals on how to harness their innate abilities so they can experience fulfillment in all areas of life and work. She also specializes in capturing, tracking, and applying People Analytics to transform companies into highly productive and engaged organizations.
In addition to her thirteen years of consulting, Emily speaks and writes on the topics of Talent Strategy, People Analytics, Psychological Assessments, Productivity, High Performance, and Employee Engagement.
Tell us about your company and how you got started!
I founded Launch Consulting in 2007 out of a passion for empowering people to thrive. I began my work with students. I wanted to save them from the pain of getting in the wrong career. But my focus quickly expanded to include professionals and companies because, frankly, people crave fulfillment and satisfaction at all ages.
Clients of Launch Consulting represent a wide range of industries – from finance to software to manufacturing – and are located worldwide.
Earlier this year I started the Mothers of Misfits podcast, where I lead weekly conversations about how to advocate for your child in a one-size-fits-all world. If you’re looking for practical parenting advice and a supportive community, this podcast is for you.
What advice do you have for other aspiring entrepreneurs?
Believe in yourself and work hard, every day. There will be wins and there will be losses. Keep powering through and stay humble.
